Having lost Champion Hurdle contender Darlan to a horrific fall at Doncaster on Monday, a win for the same connections tomorrow would be a welcome boost.
The two-mile-and-110-yard contest is the richest handicap hurdle run in Britain and has attracted a decent field.
Nicky Henderson’s My Tent Or Yours will bid to become the seventh successive winner to be aged five or six but the last five winners have all carried 11st1lb or less, which is 1lb less than the JP McManus-owned six-year-old has to shoulder.
In the last ten runnings only two horses, Essex in 2005 and Copeland in 2002 carried more than 11st1lb to victory. Petit Robin, Causes of Causes and My Tent or Yours are the only three runners having to carry more than 11st1lb.
My Tent Or Yours' jockey AP McCoy will be going for a third win in the contest.
Only three times in the last 20 renewals has a horse eight or over won this race, so the likes of Peit Robin, PunjabiDark Lover, Ronaldo Des Mottes, The Betchworth Kid and Manyriverstocross look up against it.
Henderson will be going for a fifth win with Petit Robin, My Tent Or Yours, Cash And Go, Punjabi and First In The Queue.
