Three Lions must be wary of Smith and South Africa
England’s summer of cricket has all been building towards the mouth-watering Test series against South Africa and the wait is finally over. On Thursday the top two Test nations will get their three match Test series underway with the number one spot up for the grabs for the victor.
The Three Lions have been in superb form in Test cricket over the last few years, going unbeaten in nine series before their one-sided defeat to Pakistan in the UAE. Andy Flower will not let his side underestimate the tourists as they possess some of the best players in the game at the moment.
South Africa are not one point behind England on the Test rankings by way of a fluke. Graeme Smith’s side have lost just one series in 19 and haven’t lost an away series since 2006. England also won’t need reminding that South Africa claimed the last Test series on English soil 2-1 back in 2008. The captain also loves playing the English and that is reflected in his batting average of 57.38 and a huge average of 72.20 in England, included four centuries.
